Systems Stability Architects for Cultural Organisations.
We design and build disciplined, governed systems so your organisation can focus on delivering great work.
We think in systems before most people know there is a system.
As expert systems architects, we:
See governance gaps instantly.
Detect behavioural friction before teams can articulate it.
Care about stewardship, not just build-and-bill.
Think in Single Source of Truth (SSOT), even when others are thinking in inboxes.
creativesystems.app turns complexity into structured, reliable operations.
Structure beneath the software.
Systems Stability Review
A structured diagnostic for organisations experiencing operational friction.
Over 3-4 weeks, we:
Map your current operational environment
Identify duplication, governance gaps and risk
Assess system architecture and data integrity
Clarify ownership and decision pathways
Provide a clear prioritised roadmap
You leave with:
A written diagnostic report
Architectural recommendations
A staged implementation pathway
Clear next steps — whether with us or internally
What We Do
We build structured, scalable systems that help organisations operate with clarity and confidence.
Our expertise is not platform-dependent. We frequently work within Airtable. The real work sits beneath the software — understanding how an organisation functions and designing systems that support it properly.
Most organisations don’t struggle because they lack tools. They struggle because their operations lack structure — processes are undocumented, data is fragmented, and systems are not governed.
We work with organisations to:
Interrogate and clarify complex workflows
Translate operational reality into structured system architecture
Establish reliable Single Source of Truth (SSOT) environments
Design scalable information management frameworks
Reduce compliance and governance risk
Align departments around shared, accurate data
The outcome is not simply automation. It is operational coherence.
How We Work
We combine operational insight with disciplined systems thinking. We understand how administration, finance, HR, production, marketing and executive functions intersect in practice — not just on an org chart.
Our approach is:
Architectural — design the structure first
Governed — build environments that are controlled and sustainable
Iterative — evolve systems alongside the organisation
Practical — ensure people can actually use what we design
Systems should reduce friction, increase visibility, and strengthen capability.
Experience & Philosophy
Our work is informed by over 20 years inside major arts and festival operations, and more than a decade designing and governing systems within complex, fast-paced organisations.
We have built and managed:
Multi-department operational environments
High-volume onboarding and compliance frameworks
Executive-level reporting and governance structures
Structured systems for creative and commercial enterprises
This experience shapes our standards:
Systems must be practical
They must be governable
They must scale
And they must be understood by the people who use them.
Our Role
We are not simply developers. We are systems partners.
We help organisations think differently about how their operations are structured. We ask the difficult questions. We identify duplication and risk. We design clarity.
The platform is just the build environment. The value lies in the thinking, structure and governance behind it.
The goal is not dependency. The goal is capability.
Who We Work Best With
We work best with organisations that:
Are managing complex programs across multiple departments
Need stronger governance and data control
Are experiencing duplication, fragmentation or workaround culture
Are scaling (up or down) and require systems that will hold
Want executive-level clarity around operations
We’re not the right fit for:
Quick tool fixes without structural thinking
One-off automation tasks without governance
Organisations unwilling to interrogate how they actually operate
Strong systems require strong intent.
“Structure begets creativity.
I design robust, governed systems that allow cultural organisations to focus on the work that matters.”
- Julia Herne, Principal Consultant.
I bring over 20 years’ experience inside major arts and festival operations, alongside more than a decade designing and governing complex operational environments.
My work sits at the intersection of operations, information governance and executive-level decision support. I have led system architecture, compliance frameworks, data governance environments and cross-department operational design across some of Australia’s largest arts and culture organisations.
I hold a Juris Doctor (Distinction), which informs my approach to governance, risk and disciplined thinking.
Strong foundations allow creative organisations to operate confidently, scale sustainably and deliver meaningful work.
If your systems feel fragile, fragmented or overly dependent on individuals — we should talk.
